The Pew Research Center published a brief in late March on the significant drop in both property and violent crime in the US since the 1990’s. This is contrary to current rhetoric that crime incidence has risen. It also contradicts sweeping changes Attorney General Jeff Sessions has indicated he will bring to the Justice Department.

In the brief Vermont is named as one of the four states with the lowest crime rates. While there are states that experience higher crime rates than Vermont, we are in fact a very safe country overall.
