Vermont Law School’s Annual Race and the Law Forum

“The Monopoly on Getting Out of Jail” 

Vermont Attorney General, TJ Donovan will give the keynote address at this year’s Race and Law Forum sponsored by the Black Law Students Association at Vermont Law School. The focus of the forum is bail and prison reform in Vermont. Specifically, the imbalance of options for people of color, the way in which racism manifests in the criminal justice system and steps that can be taken to overcome them. Other guest speakers include Ebony Nyoni of Black Lives Matter Vermont and James Lyell of the American Civil Liberties Union of Vermont.
This event is free and open to the public and will take place at the Chase Community Center at Vermont Law School on Friday, February 2nd from 9 am to 3:30 pm. It will also be viewed via live stream at vermontlaw.edu/live.
