Our Restorative Practices in Schools program was recently highlighted on WCAX. The piece, Program Helps Decrease Behavioral Issues in School, provides a glimpse into the work we do to support schools in strengthening community, problem solving, and responding to unmet needs.
The news story focuses specifically on our partnership with Vermont non-profit ‘Up For Learning’ in working with Wolcott Elementary School (WES) to grow their restorative and neuro-informed practices. Impressively, WES has only had 15 office referrals for behavior so far this year, after having 300 two years ago. This highlights how effectively restorative practices work as prevention tools.
We are grateful for this partnership and for these exciting outcomes.
Kudos to Mark Scott and Emily Neilsen for their work in elementary, middle and high schools across the Lamoille Valley!
