In the December conversation you will learn about the Pretrial Services Program at LRC. The program began in 2014 with the intention of protecting public safety by connecting folks cycling through the criminal justice system as a result of mental health and substance use issues with the services they need.
A recent point-in-time study of 200 program participants on a single day at LRC, revealed that 40% of people had substance use issues and 50% had mental health issues.
John Strout, Pretrial Services Monitor at LRC, shares Bill’s (name has been changed for confidentiality) success story as a participant in the Pretrial Services Program.
