April and May continued to be busy months for us here at LRC:
The weather cooperated and we were finally able to present Bess O’Brien’s documentary Coming Home at NVU- Johnson.
Screenings of LRC’s new documentary Downstream continued in Burlington, Montpelier, Essex and White River Junction!
Downstream is a one hour documentary featuring the compelling stories of those left behind when a parent goes to prison. Vermont children and caregivers share their experiences, revealing the complex and emotional terrain they navigate in the wake of a parent’s incarceration. To learn more about the film and find future screenings visit Downstream.
Employment opportunities in outdoor careers were highlighted with local employers at an Information Session at River Arts on May 9th. These Information Session events are just part of the workforce development program at LRC. Case managers also work with individuals to assist with job coaching and other employment-related services, housing support and important life skills. You can learn about one young womans success story in the May conversation with Roland Lajoie.
